The SOMON MDC-SP101H in 1/4 introduces the youngest cellists to a properly sized, well-built instrument. Scaled to fit small arms and bodies, this cello is set up by a professional luthier before delivery to ensure natural, comfortable playability — so the student can focus on learning rather than fighting the instrument.

Fitted with Thomastik-Infeld Alphayue strings, designed in Vienna for student instruments. Alphayue’s synthetic core produces a warm, colorful tone immediately more inspiring than solid-steel student strings, while its gentle tension makes playing comfortable for small, developing hands.
